September has arrived, and with it comes the busy harvest season of apple picking here at Mac Ivors Cider. We have over 100 acres of prime apple orchards, with the apples ready to be picked by hand over the coming weeks….so it’s all hands on deck! Just think how many apples that actually is…
ABV Festival
But it’s not all hard work in the orchards, we’ll have an evening off tonight at what is sure to be a fantastic craft beer festival in Belfast – the ABV festival in Carlisle memorial Church. Amazing craft breweries from all over the world will be pouring their fantastic beers and Sarah & Greg will be more than happy to try them out (all in the name of research of course). Our delicious Traditional Dry and Medium Ciders will also be available in bottles at the festival for those after a refreshing, crisp, fruity alternative to the beers! We hope to see you there! Armagh Food & Cider Festival
We have some exciting local events coming up too in the next few weeks – the “Armagh Food & Cider Festival” takes place 19th– 22nd September, with a jam-packed schedule of events – orchard tours, food markets, feasts, tastings and talks. A great festival to celebrate the apple harvest! We will be at the “Sundown market” in Banbridge on Friday 20th and the “Open Air Market” in Armagh on Saturday 21st. Take a look at their website for a full schedule and get booking here at https://visitarmagh.com/festivals/food-cider/
Happy Days Festival
Another festival happening that weekend will be hosted by our good friends Rascals in Inchicore, Dublin – their “Happy Days festival of Beer & Food” takes place on Saturday 21st September. Looks set to be a cracker of a day with plenty of great beers and food. Greg is making something special too for the event so keep an eye out for it! https://rascalsbrewing.com/event/rascals-happy-days-festival-of-beer-food/
