As apple-picking season wraps up and our cider pressing nears completion, the team at Mac Ivors Cider are preparing for a well-earned rest! It’s been a whirlwind of activity in our orchards here in Co. Armagh, where we’ve spent the last few weeks picking millions of juicy apples and extracting the rich, flavourful juice that forms the heart of our cider.
Every single apple is hand-picked from our orchards located within just five miles of our press. From tree to press, we aim to complete the journey within 24 hours, ensuring every drop of juice is as fresh as it can possibly be. We know it’s the old way of doing things but sure it’s how we make our cider truly special—bursting with the kind of flavour that sets us apart from the larger corporate cider alternatives.
Think of that delicious not-from-concentrate apple juice that we pay so much for in your local supermarket. We press that, pitch our yeast into it and let nature do what it does best, slowly turning the sugars into alcohol whilst keeping all that luscious fresh apple taste.
These are not trade secrets, it’s how to make great tasting independent cider. But don’t take our word for it. Grab a bottle of Mac Ivors and taste the difference for yourself—freshness you can taste in every sip.
Cheers! 🍎
