Ritchie Remo and Mac Ivors Cider – what a combo!

Towing liftin’ sowing baling, drawing hauling and buck raking

Backin’ stackin’ plowin’ crashing, tippin’ rappin’ tail doors flappin’

It’s a bit different to what we do here in the orchards so if Marty Mone wants to come up for lyrics for us he can drive a tractor round our 110 acres anytime.

In the meantime though, if you don’t already know them, you might need to learn these Hit The Diff lyrics if you are heading to the Rushmere Shopping Centre on September 8 which kicks off the start of a two day Music and Food Festival.

Sarah will be heading to the festival which takes place in the heart of The Food Heartlands and she’ll be bringing along our award winning Traditional Dry Cider, Medium Cider and Plum and Ginger all produced in our 110 acres of beautiful orchards at Ardress. No doubt Sarah’s foot will be tapping during Friday’s events when country stars Cliona Hagan and Ritchie Remo entertain the crowds. Who knows? She might even get a jive especially if Ireland’s much loved country music star Ritchie Remo bangs out Hit The Diff.

The place will go nuts!

The whole point of this festival is to celebrate Rushmere’s 40th anniversary so a huge congratulations to the Rushmere team on reaching their 40th year in business. We are delighted to be part of this celebration where a whole host of people will gather to celebrate local produce, our unique farming heritage and the sounds of country music.

Come along because everyone knows our ciders are delicious when paired with food so you will be spoiled for choice over the course of the two days. You’ll probably smell the smoked food before you see it. There’ll be barbeques, lots of other delicious locally produced food, our ciders, beers and some of the local restaurants too will be there including Armagh’s Uluru Bar & Grill and 4 Vicars.

The Food Village will have almost 30 producers and suppliers from Friday evening and throughout Saturday, there’ll be family orientated activities which will entertain the little ones and the Downtown Radio team will be there hosting a roadshow which will include giveaways and promotions.

Saturday is free and open to members of the public to visit while a limited number of tickets will be available to purchase for the Friday evening’s festivities. Available from the Customer Service Desk in the centre, tickets for Rushmere’s Music & Food Festival Friday night are £10 each or £25 for a family of four. Opening times for the festival are 4:30-9:30pm on Friday (ticketed entry only) and from 12pm to 6pm on Saturday (Free entry).

We hope to see you there! #followthefox
