Summer fun at Mac Ivors Cider

The last few weeks have been a busy time for Sarah here at Mac Ivors Cider, travelling to festivals all over Ireland. But it’s not all hard work, as many of you will know, she loves meeting all our wonderful customers and getting people to try Mac Ivors cider for the first time too!! We might not be having the unreal summer of last year but we’re here to make the most of it.

All Ireland Games Fair

We love attending as many fairs and festivals as we can around Ireland, and with the amazing quality of local food and drink on offer it’s easy to see why they are so busy. For the second year Mac Ivors were set up in the Fine Food tent at the “All Ireland Games Fair”, a brilliant weekend in the scenic surroundings of Shane’s Castle. The weather held out, and a great weekend was had for all the family. Bygone rabbit catching, clay pigeon shooting, medieval jousting – you name it, it’s there!

Galway International Food & Drinks Festival

Sarah then headed down to Galway for the inaugural “International Food & Drinks Festival”. Although the rain came down earlier in the weekend, we had a glorious Sunday and with it, plenty of cider drinking! The fair was full of gorgeous craft stalls, and artisanal foods. Sarah came home with the car full – cheeses, pork belly, hard coffee spirit, jams, local toothpaste and much much more! A serious showcase of fantastic local products, for such a small island we make a lot of great stuff. Delicious pints of Galway Hooker went down nicely throughout the weekend, and our first ever Handsome Burger did not disappoint!

Dalriada Festival

Last weekend we then headed back up to Antrim for “Dalriada Festival” with Food NI for yet another weekend of yummy food and drink. Peter Andre, Atomic Kitten, Fleur East – a line-up to bring back some distant memories for some. We were down at the Celtic Smoke BBQ section and the atmosphere was electric!! The guys from Kansas City BBQ Society were in attendance to oversee the judging, and the food was superb. Chicken, pork shoulder, ribs, brisket…..the sun beaming down and an ice cold cider in hand – the perfect weekend!

The Open at the Royal Portrush

It was an honour to be invited to the spectacular weekend that was The Open, where we were tasting our local ciders in the Tourism NI tent on Saturday. An incredible achievement for Portrush and for Tourism NI. And what a result for Shane Lowry – a fitting finish for a spectacular week!

Hagstravaganza

The fun doesn’t end there, this weekend brings one of our favourite festivals in the craft beer scene – Hagstravaganza with our friends The White Hag in Ballymote, Sligo. A serious session of world class beers and there will be something special from Mac Ivors Cider pouring too…. We cannot wait!!!

Make sure and pop over to say hello at any festivals you spot Mac Ivors Cider, and thank you so much to everyone who has called over throughout the summer! #FollowTheFox
